Review: These pants fit ok, but they are alittle tight around the waist. I don’t know if it because it new and needs to be worn a bit or if I need another size. I normaly wear a 48-50 depending on the brand. However the lenght is perfect.

Review: Price was fair, so I ordered four. One pair had a 2″ gap of unsewn seam in one pocket. Everything else is good. Nice, comfy sweats w/a bit of a baggy fit through the pelvic area. Glad I bought ’em.

They’re well positioned and do not flare out making hips look wider. I really like this design feature compared to other sweat pants pockets which flare out doubling the appearance of your hip width. These do not do that.Drawstring is the lazy manufacturer type, single-cord, inside the pants, which requires a loop type knot to hold them tighter. The loop type knot is a complete PITA to untie when you want to open the knot and loosen the drawstring. The cord used for the waistband drawstring is a type that really ties into a tight knot. Why all manufacturers cannot cut the drawstring so that it can be tied like a shoe is a mystery.General quality impression: These sweats look good when you’re wearing them (except for the long crotch drop in front of the pants). The color (black) looks great. The stitching quality was normal/good. I didn’t wash them yet, so I don’t know how they hold up through several washings. I do not use a dryer for most clothes so that they last longer and the color stays solid. After I’ve washed these several times I’ll get back here and update this.Pros: Nice cut and fit (except for massively deep crotch). Looks good with pockets that don’t flare out. Open bottoms are nice and prevent baggy blousing at the ankles. I’m white and so don’t have a butt and these look much better than some manufacturer’s sweats which turn a white ass into an office ass looking square box. These don’t do that–Kudos Russell.Cons: MASSIVELY DEEP CROTCH. Why does a pair of (any) pants need to be pulled up to your chin so that the crotch fits? These Russell sweat pants have a crotch that is literally a foot and a half deep. I measured the rise from the bottom of my crotch, in a straight line, to the bottom of my waist (while laying flat) and it is 6 to 7 inches (15.2 to 17.8 cm) — so with these sweats (size large), there is a compete foot (12″ (30.5 cm)) of extra material before the waist is reached. Stupid. Why do we need to pay $ 70 for work out pants to get a fit that looks good with a true inseam and a true rise so that there is not a foot of pants bagging below the crotch? Can’t manufacturers like Russell buy a pair of really good fitting work out pants and then unstitch them to see the measurements and then recreate the pattern so that $ 5, $ 10, $ 15 sweats look good? If I had the capital I’d start a $ 10 “tailored” sweats company so that no matter your dimensions the pair of sweats would look good proportionally on your frame.Summary: For the price these are good, not great. I”m keeping them because compared to the other sweat pants these have a better fit (albeit, not counting the horrible mile deep crotch). I’ll cut the drawstring loop so that I can tie these like shoes.

Review: The pants are very well made. I did however return them as they were too long. The inseam was 32” and waist to inseam was 13”. I’m 5’8” and 220. The waist was fine. Don’t know if large would’ve worked.

Title: Review of 10 Pairs of Sweatpants
Review: I waited almost a year to post this review to see if my initial conclusion was correct. Essentially it was. The bottom line is the Polo Ralph Lauren French Rib pants fit and feel the best of any pants. Unfortunately, they’re expensive and not available on Amazon. However, there are some pairs available on auction sites for reasonable prices. The next best is between the U.S. Polo Assn. Men’s Fleece Cargo Pant and the Champion Men’s Champion Eco Open Bottom Pant. The problem with the U.S. Polo Assn. Men’s Fleece Cargo is that they pill a lot and because they’re made of nylon they don’t breathe well if at all. The problem with the Champion is they’re a bit long, a bit baggy and the waist is a bit big. The rest of them aren’t even worth trying. I’m looking forward to some affordable, high quality, great fitting sweat pants. Unfortunately, they don’t exist at the moment. Interesting note, I initially bought all the pants in size large, but they all seemed to fit a bit too tight not only in the waist but throughout the whole let as well. I like my sweatpants loose fitting so I reordered them all in XL and made my conclusions based on that.Polo Ralph Lauren French RibThey are 100% cotton, which is extremely hard to find. They may be the heaviest of all the pants (not necessarily good or bad), the most naturally soft (cotton soft compared to nylon “fleece” soft), and the best fit (loose, but not too loose, definitely not tight) throughout the waist and legs, and a good length (long enough that you may walk on the back of them when you’re not wearing shoes). The inseam is very low however. That is the one thing I would change. I’d raise the inseam up by 2 inches.U.S. Polo Assn.
