Mixing LiME LiNE Bascoats

Basecoat
Pour out the amount of basecoat needed to complete your project. Keep in mind the reducer will double what’s in your paint cup.
Note: If you’re not using the LiME LiNE disposable paint liners with the filter in the lid (as shown) you will want to use a cone style paper filter to strain the paint.

Reducer
You will need to reduce your basecoat to make it spray smooth through your paint gun or airbrush.
Mix in reducer 1:1 (50/50)
Note: This is not a hard rule add more reducer for smaller tip spray guns or airbrushes.

Mix
Mix thoroughly using a reusable stir stick.

Spray
Spray 3 coats or until full hide is achieved.
Allow 5-10 minutes between coatsAllow 10-30 minutes before clearcoat


Application on bare metal (Step 1)
Clean bare metal with wax and grease removerTape and mask to prevent overspray Prime (2-3 coats)Allow primer to dry

Application on bare metal (Step 2)
Sand Primer with 600-800 grit sandpaperPrimer needs to be sanded in order for the basecoat to adhere properlyClean with glass cleaner

Application on bare metal (Step 3)

Apply 3 coats or until full hide of LiME LiNE BasecoatSpray in clean well ventilated areaAllow 5-10 minutes between coatsAllow 10-20 minutes after last coat before clearcoat

ALWAYS USE (NIOSH/MSHA) APPROVED RESPIRATOR
Spray 3-4 coats of 2 part catalized clear coatAllow to dry overnight

1st coat
Approximately 50% coverage Allow to dry (flash off)

2nd coat
Approximately 75% coverageAllow to dry 5-10 minutes

3rd coat
100% coverage Apply more coats if need to achieve full coverage Wait 10-20 before clearcoat

Clearcoat
3-4 coats of clearcoatAllow to dry overnight


Application on Factory Paint (Step 1)
Do not paint on aftermarket paint, spray paint, paint with corrosion or adhesion problems
Clean and degrease with wax and grease removerInspect paint surface for imperfections

Application on Factory Paint (Step 2)
Surface needs to be sanded in order for the basecoat to adhere properly!
Sand using 600-800 sandpaperFeather out any paint chips or imperfections Tape and mask to prevent oversprayClean with glass cleaner (Spot prime and sand if needed)
