The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said 1% of the vehicles are expected to have the defect.<\/p>\n<p>Letters informing owners of the issue are slated to go out between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4. Additional letters will be mailed once a remedy is available, around March 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Drivers can bring affected Mustang vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have their engine compartment wiring harness ground terminals replaced free of charge, the recall notice says.<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA&#8217;s recall number is 26V547.
