The team then confirmed the caller&#8217;s suspicion.<\/p>\n<p>The device was a live &#8220;parrot round,&#8221; the sheriff&#8217;s office wrote. It is known for its thick iron reinforcing band wrapped around the breech, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/people\/robert-parrott.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Park Service<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The weapon came in different sizes, ranging from 10 to 300 pounds.
