With <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/cpi-report-today-may-2026-inflation-iran-war-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">inflation<\/a><\/span> at its highest level since April 2023, the potential for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/fed-meeting-fomc-today-kevin-warsh-interest-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Federal Reserve rate hike<\/a>\u00a0is not insignificant, and with little <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/june-jobs-report-57000-jobs-hiring-slows\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">job growth<\/a><\/span>, according to a Thursday report, there&#8217;s much to contend with in today&#8217;s economy. So investing may understandably be less of a priority. And that fraction has noticeably contracted in recent weeks.
