The documents contain eyewitness testimony, photos and reports of sightings of unexplained objects, detailing incidents dating back decades from around the globe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation \u2014 and it&#8217;s time the American people see it for themselves,&#8221; Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a statement upon the release of the first files. The files include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvidshub.net\/video\/1006111\/dow-uap-pr49-unresolved-uap-report-department-army-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">videos<\/a> of unresolved cases as well as archival files from different government agencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The documents include 120 PDFs, 28 videos and 14 images. The photos are a mix of images of suspicious objects in the sky, filmed by military aircraft, but also include photos from the Moon by NASA astronauts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One image is an FBI photo overlaid by a graphic of an object described by an eyewitness. The Pentagon said information was withheld to &#8220;protect the identity of eyewitnesses, the location of government facilities, or potentially sensitive information about military sites not related to UAP.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No redactions have been made to any files released under President Trump&#8217;s directive concerning information about the nature or existence of any encounter reported as a UAP or related phenomena,&#8221; the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>In February, Mr. Trump, in a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116100300268316472\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Truth Social<\/a>, directed the Pentagon and other agency heads to <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-ufo-alien-and-extraterrestrial-life-files-pentagon\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">release files<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/video-house-ufo-hearing-us-missile-strikes-unidentified-object\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">on UFOs<\/a><\/span> and any &#8220;alien and extraterrestrial life.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He asked them &#8220;to begin the process of identifying and releasing&#8221; any relevant files and called for the release of &#8220;any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon has <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/ufos-government-outer-space-no-evidence\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">tracked reports of<\/a><\/span> what it calls unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs, for decades. But the military said in a 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/media.defense.gov\/2024\/Mar\/08\/2003409233\/-1\/-1\/0\/DOPSR-CLEARED-508-COMPLIANT-HRRV1-08-MAR-2024-FINAL.PDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> there&#8217;s no evidence that any government investigation into UAPs has confirmed the existence of extraterrestrial life.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Trump has said he&#8217;s not sure whether or not aliens exist.<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon started releasing images several years ago after it established a website for its All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, which was tasked with analyzing reports of unidentified anomalous phenomena.
