The move to compete in the drinks space comes after McDonald&#8217;s last May\u00a0<span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/mcdonalds-cosmc-closing-locations\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">pulled the plug<\/a><\/span> on its <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/mcdonalds-cosmcs-beverages\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">beverage-oriented chain<\/a><\/span>, CosMc&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>The media outlet also reported that McDonald&#8217;s plans to undercut competitors such as \u00a0Starbucks and Dutch Bros on price, citing internal documents related to the launch.<\/p>\n<p>After it closed CosMc&#8217;s stores, McDonald&#8217;s tested new drink combinations, including a Sour Cherry Energy Burst, in U.S. McDonald&#8217;s restaurants.
