Now at 3.3%, <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/cpi-report-today-march-2026-inflation-iran-war-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">inflation<\/a><\/span> is at its highest level in nearly two years and is close to a point and a half above the Federal Reserve&#8217;s target 2% goal.
