And, if used for select home projects, homeowners may even be eligible to <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/is-home-equity-loan-tax-deductible\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">deduct the interest paid on the home equity loan from their taxes<\/a><\/span> for the year in which the funds were used.<\/p>\n<p>To realize all of these benefits, however, borrowers must first calculate their potential monthly costs.
