In Friday&#8217;s hearing, Judge Douglas Micko lobbied federal prosecutors to return the phone, but they claim they&#8217;re still processing a search warrant.<\/p>\n<p>Local activists Chauntyll Allen and Nekima Levy Armstrong and two others also pleaded not guilty during Friday&#8217;s hearing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For 30 years, I&#8217;ve been a journalist, and the power and protection of the First Amendment has been the underpinning of my work. The First Amendment, the freedom of the press is the bedrock of our democracy,&#8221; Lemon said after the hearing. &#8220;People are finally realizing what this administration is all about. The process is the punishment with them. I will not be intimidated. I will not back down. I will fight these baseless charges and I will not be silenced.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Court documents say the group\u00a0<span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/doj-probing-protesters-group-that-disrupted-services-at-church-with-ice-pastor\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">interrupted services at Cities Church<\/a><\/span>\u00a0in St. Paul, Minnesota, last month. The indictment alleges the disruption violated the FACE Act, which prohibits people from intimidating or interfering with people exercising their constitutional freedom to practice religion. But some former Civil Rights Division lawyers say the charge is constitutionally flawed and has never before been used to prosecute interference in a house of worship.<\/p>\n<p>Before the indictment, a federal magistrate judge in Minnesota <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/magistrate-judge-rejects-charges-don-lemon-anti-ice-protest-minnesota-church\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">refused to sign a complaint<\/a><\/span> charging Lemon in the case. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/minnesota\/news\/nekima-levy-armstrong-white-house-altered-photo-talking-points\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Levy Armstrong told WCCO<\/a><\/span> her faith compelled her to protest Easterwood.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The reality is, as a Christian who is also an ordained reverend, in my tradition, it is important to speak up when you see injustice,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Independent journalist Georgia Fort and one other person charged in the case are set to be arraigned on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<section
