The effort is showing some results: Starbucks reported Jan. 28 that same-store sales rose 4% in the most recent quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The February menu additions include six bakery items \u2014 including new loaf, tart and croissant flavors \u2014 and a dark roast coffee. Starbucks also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/stories\/2026\/starbucks-launches-new-matcha-and-valentines-day-drinks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">debuted<\/a>\u00a0two fruit-flavored matcha beverages last week as part of its Valentine&#8217;s Day offerings, which will have a permanent place on the coffee giant&#8217;s menu.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Customers told me that our menu needed to feel more relevant,&#8221; Niccol said at the company&#8217;s investor day on Jan. 29.<\/p>\n<p>Niccol&#8217;s turnaround plan has included\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/press\/2024\/starbucks-announces-removal-of-extra-charge-for-non-dairy-milk-starting-nov-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">eliminating<\/a>\u00a0the extra charge for nondairy milk, adding personal touches such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/press\/2025\/customer-names-and-messages-on-orders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">hand-written notes<\/a>\u00a0on coffee cups and introducing a\u00a0<span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/starbucks-dress-code-2025-new-look-apron-uniform\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">new dress code<\/a><\/span>\u00a0for employees to help improve the coffee giant&#8217;s image. Last month, it <a href=\"https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/press\/2026\/starbucks-unveils-reimagined-loyalty-program-to-deliver-more-meaningful-value-personalization-and-engagement-to-members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">revamped its loyalty program<\/a> into three tiers, with the higher levels providing bigger benefits to members.<\/p>\n<p>The company also announced in September that it would\u00a0<span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/starbucks-closing-underperforming-stores-locations-ceo-brian-niccol-layoffs\/\" target=\"_blank\"
