It also included sections of the U.S. Forest Service and Natural Resources Conservation Service sites, and the U.S. Forest Service\u2019s \u201c<a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/GOVPUB-A13-PURL-gpo234739\/pdf\/GOVPUB-A13-PURL-gpo234739.pdf\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Climate Risk Viewer<\/a>,\u201d which included detailed maps showing how climate change might affect national forests and grasslands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\"><a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/02\/24\/climate\/agriculture-farmer-website-data-lawsuit.html\" title=\"\">The lawsuit, filed in February<\/a>, said the purge denied farmers information to make time-sensitive decisions while facing business risks linked to climate change, such as heat waves, droughts, floods and wildfires.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The suit was brought by the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York along with two environmental organizations, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Environmental Working Group.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-2\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The plaintiffs had sought a court order requiring the department to restore the deleted pages. On Monday, the government said it would oblige.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Jay Clayton, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, wrote to Judge Margaret M. Garnett that he was representing the Agriculture Department in the lawsuit, and that the department had already begun restoring the pages and interactive tools described in the lawsuit. He said the department \u201cexpects to substantially complete the restoration process in approximately two weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Mr. Clayton asked the judge to adjourn a hearing scheduled for May 21.
