\u2014 a personal movie section built just for his most loyal customer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>                  <span class=\"embed__credit\"><\/p>\n<p>                CBS News<\/p>\n<p>                          <\/span><br \/>\n              <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Though Christina&#8217;s family owns most of the movies she rents, the routine of visiting the store and checking out films is essential to her well-being.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She&#8217;ll only watch them if they&#8217;re from the video store,&#8221; Toni explained with a laugh. &#8220;I think it&#8217;s comforting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When financial realities forced Kraning to close The Video Stop, he faced a dilemma about how to break the news to Christina.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Last year, just looking at the financials, it wasn&#8217;t sustainable to try and keep the video store going,&#8221; Kraning said. &#8220;This was one of my first jobs and I remember back in high school, her bringing her daughter in, getting the movies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"embed embed--type-image is-image embed--float-none embed--size-medium\">\n<p>      <span class=\"img embed__content\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets3.cbsnewsstatic.com\/hub\/i\/r\/2025\/04\/07\/e761eded-14c8-40de-82d7-d4640208d2e0\/thumbnail\/1240x698\/bfed52c0b8d8b5fa2652f8865c677a00\/cmo-idaho4-1.jpg?v=7613930c2bdb7d1bf55be910a9b022f2#\" alt=\"cmo-idaho4-1.jpg \" height=\"698\" width=\"1240\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/span><figcaption class=\"embed__caption-container\">\n<p>                  <span class=\"embed__caption\">Even though her family owns most of the movies, Christina Cavanaugh will only watch them if they&#8217;re rented from the local video store.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>                  <span class=\"embed__credit\"><\/p>\n<p>                CBS News<\/p>\n<p>                          <\/span><br \/>\n              <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Instead of simply shutting down, Kraning, who also owns the convenience store next door, created &#8220;Christina&#8217;s Corner&#8221; \u2014 a special section with shelving and a display of DVDs designed to look like the video store experience she was accustomed to.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That somebody would do something so kind, for her specifically like that \u2014 he wasn&#8217;t thinking about anything else except her. That&#8217;s huge,&#8221; said Toni.<\/p>\n<p>Christina still arrives around 3:30 p.m. daily, selects a movie from Christina&#8217;s Corner, and checks it out herself at the register.
