Thanks to a surge in <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/inflation-june-cpi-report-hit-new-high-40-years-9-1-percent\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">inflation<\/a><\/span> and a spike in <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/federal-reserve-hikes-interest-rate-to-22-year-high-july-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">interest rates<\/a><\/span>, returns on <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/high-yield-savings-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">high-yield savings<\/a><\/span> and <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/whats-a-certificate-of-deposit-cd\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">certificates of deposit (CD) accounts<\/a><\/span> surged.
