It identified one suspect as Jesus Abraham, alias Taliban.<\/p>\n<p> In June, Mexico announced the arrest of another suspect, identified as Gabriel N., alias Gabito, a hitman for the same faction.<\/p>\n<p>Mines have been the target of organized crime on other occasions in Mexico, as cartels see opportunities to extort or even sell valuable ore themselves.<\/p>\n<p> Abductions by armed groups are common in Mexico, where more than 120,000 people have vanished since the 1950s, many of them abducted and killed by drug cartels.<\/p>\n<p> It is rare, however, for international companies to be targeted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are devastated by this outcome and the tragic loss of life,&#8221; Vizsla President and CEO Michael Konnert said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/vizslasilvercorp.com\/vizsla-silver-provides-update-on-situation-in-concordia-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> after five of the workers&#8217; bodies were found. &#8220;Our deepest condolences are with our colleagues&#8217; families, friends and co-workers, and the entire community of Concordia.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed__float-wrap\">\n<figure truth, this has been very painful to be here, in a place where we don&#8217;t want to be,&#8221; Jaime Casta\u00f1eda told CBC News in a phone interview.<\/p>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Casta\u00f1eda Hern\u00e1ndez, 43, was a husband and a father to two children, his brother told CBC News.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s so hard to see \u2026 how they suffer,&#8221; Jaime Casta\u00f1eda aid. &#8220;There&#8217;s no justice with what&#8217;s happening.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> The government said the workers were mistaken for members of a rival faction of the Sinaloa cartel, which has been ripped apart by internecine fighting since September 2024.<\/p>\n<p> According to the government, the suspects worked for a faction controlled by the sons of jailed druglord Joaquin <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/federal-judge-denies-el-chapo-family-calls-visits\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">&#8220;El Chapo&#8221; Guzman<\/a><\/span>, who is serving a life sentence in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/media\/el-chapo-will-join-notorious-prisoners-at-supermax-alcatraz-of-the-rockies\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Supermax prison<\/a>\u00a0in Florence, Colorado, which houses numerous high-profile inmates<\/p>\n<p> The Sinaloa cartel has been designated a terrorist organization by Washington.<\/p>\n<p>In July, former Sinaloa cartel co-founder Ismael &#8220;El Mayo&#8221; Zambada was <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/cartel-leader-ismael-el-mayo-zambada-sentenced-life-us-prison\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">sentenced<\/a><\/span> in a U.S. court to life in prison, seven years after &#8220;El Chapo&#8221; was handed the <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/el-chapo-jaquin-guzman-drug-cartel-kingpin-sentenced-to-prison-term-today-new-york-by-federal-judge\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">same
