Here&#8217;s what to know about what is open and closed on Columbus Day\/Indigenous Peoples Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Is today a federal holiday?\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, Monday, Oct. 12, is a federal holiday, which means that U.S. government offices will be closed and federal workers have the day off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Is the stock market open on Columbus Day?<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, the stock market is open on Columbus Day, with neither the New York Stock Exchange nor the Nasdaq market observing it as a holiday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The stock market will be open during its regular working hours on Monday from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<h2>Is mail delivered on Columbus Day?<\/h2>\n<p>No, the U.S. Postal Service <a href=\"https:\/\/about.usps.com\/newsroom\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">observes<\/a> Columbus Day as a holiday, which means there will be<strong> <\/strong>no regular residential or business mail delivery. All USPS offices will also be closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Are banks open on Columbus Day?<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s best to check with your bank, as some are open while others observe the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan Chase said that its branches <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chase.com\/content\/dam\/chase-ux\/documents\/commercial-banking\/chase-connect\/cco_la_holidays.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will be open<\/a> on Oct. 12, but will treat the day as a holiday for online transactions.
