AI experts have also said the tech could pose serious threats, with one former Anthropic researcher recently warning that AI could grow <span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/anthropic-researcher-jacob-coxon-ai-warning\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">&#8220;smart enough to kill us.&#8221;<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>News of the FTC&#8217;s investigation into the AI companies was first <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/30\/us-news\/ftc-opens-sweeping-probe-of-anthropic-openai-and-other-super-intelligence-models\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> by the New
