Charlie Kirk shot at Turning Point USA event at Utah university

Conservative activist and Turning Points USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was shot Wednesday at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University,  his organization told The Associated Press.

“We are confirming that he was shot and we are praying for Charlie,” said Aubrey Laitsch, public relations manager for Turning Point USA.

The extent and severity of his injuries are unknown. 

Kirk was speaking to students from an outdoor tent when he was shot. A Utah Valley University alert said a single shot was fired on campus toward a visiting speaker and a suspect is in custody.

Kirk is a close ally of President Truth, who posted on social media about it.
