The magnet is strong and works well.I like the way this looks. Its functional,  yet looks nice, too. I like how its not huge, either.  I would suggest paying attention to how you rip off the paper towels (to the right or left) if you&#8217;re using the screws and centering it, so you&#8217;re not pulling the roll off when you tear off a piece or two witb one hand. The magnet would be good to help determine that, before permanently mounting it, too. The only thing to be aware of is that a few of these newer huge jumbo sized rolls don&#8217;t fit until you have used some of the paper towels. Im not talking about the ones that have mainly been out for the past several years. Its some new ones we&#8217;re just running into now that are having this issue. Most fit, but occasionally,  we get one from a wholesale club where we have to use it for a little before putting it up.Overall, it&#8217;s easy to install,  looks very nice, and we are very happy with it. It is sturdy and easy to use. It definitely seems to be a great value for the money we spent. Installation was very easy. We used the magnet and dont plan on using the screws. I would recommend getting it to anyone.This goes under cabinets quite easily.
