She launched the app in Atlanta over the weekend at Buckhead Art and Company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI\u2019m so excited, I\u2019m super excited,\u201d GloRilla said about the new venture. \u201cThink about it every day. I dream about it.\u201d GloRilla says the idea for GloVerse grew out of her own experiences after her music career took off and she began traveling from city to city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Finding reliable beauty professionals on the road wasn\u2019t always easy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI\u2019m always like, \u2018I need a makeup artist in this city. Who do good hair and who does certain styles?\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cIt was nerveracking sometimes, and I would have to book whoever is available.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">That experience helped inspire an app intended to make the search easier. GloVerse aims to connect people of different races, genders and ages with beauty professionals, including hairstylists, makeup artists and nail technicians. The platform allows users to create a \u201cGlow ID\u201d and share their social media profiles as they connect with beauty professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Beauty and technology aren\u2019t the only new areas GloRilla is exploring. The rapper is also preparing to make her move into acting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI\u2019m getting in my acting bag, so I\u2019ve been reading my script,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">GloRilla joked that she has been practicing her acting skills every morning by looking in the mirror and working on facial expressions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI be looking a mess. I\u2019m trying, but I\u2019m going to get it together,\u201d she said with a laugh.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">She\u2019s also working on her sophomore album, adding another major project to an already busy schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">GloRilla\u2019s entrepreneurial expansion comes after a rapid rise in music. The Memphis native went from working at Walmart to securing a record deal and becoming one of hip-hop\u2019s most recognizable young stars.
