The company also delivered operating EBITDA of EUR 127 million (+4%), while maintaining a 29% EBITDA margin, matching the record level achieved in the prior year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Performance was driven by continued growth in recorded music streaming subscriptions, strong frontline releases, continued progress under the company\u2019s BMG Next strategy, and investment in music rights through Bertelsmann\u2019s Boost program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">During the first six months of the year, BMG made the highest first-half investment in music rights in the company\u2019s history. Since 2021, the company\u2019s investments in music rights catalogs have reached USD 1.8 billion through Bertelsmann\u2019s Boost program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thomas Coesfeld, CEO, BMG, said: \u201cOur first-half results reflect the strength of the business we have built over the past several years. Through BMG Next, we have become a more focused, more profitable, digital-first business \u2013 one that is better able to invest in artists, songwriters, and music rights for the long term. Sustained organic growth, record profitability, and our highest-ever first half investment in music rights give us a strong foundation for the opportunities ahead. AI is now being applied at scale across BMG to better serve our clients and rightsholders by connecting music with the right audiences, deepening fan engagement, driving revenue opportunities, and improving productivity.\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Major catalog acquisitions included rights from Jelly Roll, Fuji Music Group (including works associated with John Lee Hooker, Hal David, and Chess Records), Snap! co-founder Luca Anzilotti, and Jet. New publishing signings included Gary Barlow, Tricky Stewart, Kybba, and MCR-T, while Jamiroquai, Yung Gravy, Ocean Sleeper, Carly Pearce, and Tash Sultana joined BMG for recordings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Frontline performance was supported by releases from Lily Allen, Louis Tomlinson, and Marteria, alongside publishing successes from Bruno Mars and Jelly Roll. Catalog performance remained strong, led by \u201cblue\u201c by yung kai, \u201cWhat Is Love\u201c by Haddaway, and \u201cLost On You\u201c by LP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The company also continued to expand its technology capabilities, using AI and data to identify the audiences most likely to engage with specific artists and releases, sharpen digital marketing and fan engagement, activate catalog more effectively, and generate additional revenue opportunities. BMG also applied AI to improve workflows and productivity across the business. For example, during the first half, the company introduced BMG Motion AI, an AI-powered solution that enables the scalable creation of premium Motion Art for Apple Music.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\" style=\"margin: 8px auto; text-align: center; display: block; clear: both;\">\n<a title=\"Hip-Hop hats, buckets, snapbacks, beanies.\" href=\"https:\/\/rapindustry.com\/shop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-64516 size-full\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/rapindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/hip-hop-hats.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-64516 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/rapindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/hip-hop-hats.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Looking ahead, the planned combination of BMG and Concord, announced in April and supported by Bertelsmann\u2019s planned cash investment of more than USD 1.16 billion, will mark the next step in BMG\u2019s long-term strategy. Subject to regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to create the world\u2019s leading independent music company and establish a more integrated IP business with greater scale, increased investment capacity, and a stronger ability to create lasting value from music rights. The combined company will be owned approximately 67% by Bertelsmann and approximately 33% by affiliates of Great Mountain Partners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Coesfeld added: \u201cTogether with Concord, we will have greater scale, broader capabilities, and increased capacity to invest in artists and songwriters, strengthen the support we provide creators and partners, and
