{"id":68940,"date":"2026-04-29T18:27:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T18:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.itshrt.com\/hiphopmagizine\/tupac-shakurs-family-sues-keefe-d-for-wrongful-death\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T18:27:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T18:27:12","slug":"tupac-shakurs-family-sues-keefe-d-for-wrongful-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.itshrt.com\/hiphopmagizine\/tupac-shakurs-family-sues-keefe-d-for-wrongful-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Tupac Shakur&#8217;s Family Sues Keefe D for Wrongful Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-6606220950177433\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- ItShrt Hip Hop Magizine News -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6606220950177433\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"9431463036\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/tags\/tupac-shakur\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tupac Shakur<\/a>&#8216;s family, namely Tupac&#8217;s stepbrother Maurice Shakur, files a new wrongful death lawsuit against the late rapper&#8217;s accused killer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/tags\/keefe-d\/\" target=\"_blank\">Duane &#8220;Keefe D&#8221; Davis.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/story\/2026-04-29\/tupacs-stepbrother-files-wrongful-death-suit-cites-new-turns-in-29-year-old-murder-case\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Los Angeles Times<\/i> report,<\/a> published on Wednesday (April 29), Maurice &#8220;Mopreme&#8221; Shakur, the stepbrother of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/tupac-shakur-facts\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tupac Shakur,<\/a> filed a new wrongful death lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (April 28), against  Duane &#8220;Keffe D&#8221; Davis and unidentified individuals who were allegedly involved in the late rap icon&#8217;s killing.<\/p>\n<p>Mopreme claims in his new lawsuit that the defendants were involved in a &#8220;complex conspiracy to murder Tupac that involved much more than mere retaliation for a prior altercation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Many individuals who were involved have long since passed away, while others have been hard to identify,&#8221; the complaint reads. &#8220;Yet, one thing is certain: there remain individuals who were involved in Tupac&#8217;s murder who, for 30 years, have not been held accountable for their crimes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This action seeks to change that,&#8221; the complaint continues.<\/p>\n<p>Mopreme lists Keefe D and John Does 1 through 100 as &#8220;individuals who may have participated in planning, financing, directing, or carrying out the conspiracy&#8221; to kill Tupac,&#8221; according to the LATimes.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Mopreme cites new evidence not available during the family&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/archives\/la-xpm-1997-sep-13-me-31739-story.html\" target=\"_blank\">initial 1997 wrongful death lawsuit,<\/a> including the 50 Cent-produced Netflix documentary, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/sean-combs-the-reckoning-docuseries-new-info\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Sean Combs: The Reckoning<\/i>,<\/a> where it&#8217;s alleged that Keefe D claimed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/keefe-d-implicate-diddy-tupac-shakur-murder\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diddy may have offered him a seven-figure fee<\/a> to orchestrate the murders of both Tupac and former Death Row Records founder Suge Knight. Diddy has vehemently denied any involvement in the killing of Tupac.<\/p>\n<p>Keefe D is currently in a Las Vegas jail awaiting trial following his arrest in September of 2023. Authorities have charged him with murder with use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal street gang in relation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/today-hip-hop-tupac-shakur-shot-las-vegas-strip\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tupac Shakur&#8217;s killing on Sept. 7, 1996 in Las Vegas.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Police allege that Keefe D secured the firearm used in the drive-by shooting and was physically present when the late rap icon was targeted and subsequently killed. The other three occupants of the vehicle involved have since passed away, including Keefe D&#8217;s nephew, Orlando Anderson \u2014 the suspected gunman \u2014 who was killed in a shootout in 1998. It is widely believed that Tupac&#8217;s murder was in retaliation after Anderson was assaulted by Tupac and several Death Row Records associates following a Mike Tyson fight on Sept. 7, 1996.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/wack-100-bail-tupac-shakur-accused-killer-keefe-d\/\" target=\"_blank\">Keefe D has pled not guilty<\/a> to the murder charges against him. <a href=\"https:\/\/news3lv.com\/news\/local\/trial-date-man-charged-tupac-shakur-murder-duane-davis-keffe-d-delayed-summer-2026-las-vegas-clark-county-court-nevada\" target=\"_blank\">His trial is
