They note that the length of his sentence is roughly four times higher than normal for Mann Act-related convictions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is the point of a jury trial if your sentence is driven by what you were acquitted of doing?\u201d the filing asks.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will now review the arguments, with oral arguments scheduled to take place on April 9.<\/p>\n<p>Diddy is currently set to be released from prison on April 25, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons\u2019 website.<\/p>\n<p>The 56-year-old is being held at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey that was his preferred location to serve his sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after he was sentenced, Diddy\u2019s lawyers <a class=\"underline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hiphopdx.com\/news\/diddy-alcohol-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\">argued that it would be the best place for him<\/a> to\u00a0\u201caddress [his] drug abuse issues\u201d and \u201cmaximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In November, the <a class=\"underline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hiphopdx.com\/news\/diddy-prison-photos-50-cent-troll\/\" target=\"_blank\">first photos of Puffy behind bars surfaced online<\/a>, showing him looking in good spirits (albeit with gray hair) while hanging out with other inmates in the prison yard.<\/p>\n<p>However, it hasn\u2019t been all smooth sailing in prison for the \u201cI\u2019ll Be Missing You\u201d hitmaker.
