Prosecutors called to the stand Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office Sgt. Christopher Smith, who gave a summary of the evidence that led to the arrests of Ksoo and his codefendants\u2014Leroy Whitaker, Abdul Robinson Jr. and Dominique Barner\u2014for the 2020 murder of Charles McCormick. Ksoo and Whitaker are currently on trial, while Barner has taken a plea deal in exchange for his testimony.<\/p>\n<p>Officer Smith explained he used surveillance video, cell-phone records, dash cam video, eye-witness accounts, and evidence including shell casings, weapons, a stolen car, cellphone and social media accounts.\u00a0Smith also cited a song released two years before the killing from affiliate Yungeen Ace titled <a href=\"https:\/\/music.apple.com\/us\/album\/kso-homocide\/1500852759?i=1500852771\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Kso Homicide,&#8221;<\/a> where Ace raps about wanting Ksoo to kill people. According to prosecutors, the murder was in retaliation for McCormick releasing a diss song aimed at Ksoo&#8217;s half-brother, Willie Addison, who was killed in a drive-by shooting.<\/p>\n<p>Ksoo&#8217;s father, Abdul Robinson Sr., was charged with accessory to murder after the fact in connection with the killing for giving a ride to two of the suspects after the incident. On Monday (July 28), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/ksoo-father-identifies-rapper-shooter-muder-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\">he testified against his son<\/a> as part of a plea deal. Robinson Sr. told the jury he had no prior knowledge of the murder until after he picked the men up after the shooting.\u00a0He called taking the stand against his son, &#8220;the hardest thing I&#8217;ve ever had to do in my life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Ksoo Murder Trial Coming to Close<\/h3>\n<p>On Wednesday (July 30), the defense and prosecution delivered closing arguments in Whitaker&#8217;s case. Ksoo&#8217;s attorneys spent the day calling their final witnesses. Final closing arguments are expected to be delivered today or Thursday (July 31).
