On Monday (April 28), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2025\/04\/28\/diddy-mental-capacity-commit-crimes-drugs-alcohol-federal-indictment-freak-offs\/\" target=\"_blank\">TMZ<\/a> reported the Bad Boy Entertainment founder&#8217;s attorneys have a doctor lined up to testify about Diddy having a &#8220;mental condition bearing on the issue of guilt.&#8221; While the &#8220;mental condition&#8221; is not made clear, prosecutors have filed an opposition to the motion, citing that the defense is required to give proper notice before rendering\u00a0&#8220;evidence of the effects of drugs and alcohol on a defendant&#8217;s memory or cognitive function.&#8221; They argue that the doctor has not examined Diddy and would only be able to testify to general assumptions made from his experience with other people.<\/p>\n<p>It appears as though Diddy&#8217;s defense will argue that Puff was not in his right mind when the alleged crimes were committed due to being intoxicated.<\/p>\n<p><em>XXL<\/em> has reached out to Diddy&#8217;s team for comment.<\/p>\n<h4>Read More: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/hip-hop-rapper-trials-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\">There Are Some Serious Hip-Hop Trials Going Down in 2025<\/a><\/h4>\n<h3>Diddy&#8217;s Sex Crimes Trial Looms<\/h3>\n<p>Diddy is facing one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The government is accusing him of hosting drug-fueled sex marathons and forcing people to participate through means of force, violence, fear and coercion. Diddy&#8217;s ex-girlfriend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/tags\/cassie\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cassie Ventura<\/a>, will be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/cassie-ventura-testify-against-diddy-real-name\/\" target=\"_blank\">prize witness for the prosecution<\/a>. Diddy&#8217;s defense was arguing against letting the footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie in 2016 be shown to the jury. However, the judge recently ruled to allow it.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, it was revealed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/diddy-rejected-plea-deal-sex-crimes-case\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diddy turned down a plea deal<\/a> in the case. Jury selection for the Diddy trial is scheduled to begin on May 5.
