It features Bone Crusher, KXNG Crooked, DJ Skillspinz, Saladin Allah, stage-commanding vocals from actress Michole White (The Wonder Years, Family Matters and Starz\u2019 BMF), and urgent yet euphoric notes from The Brass-A-Holics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It\u2019s an ode to the futuristic 80s\u2019s vibe that shaped 90\u2019s hip hop\u2019s rise as not just music, but a movement \u2013 that era of unadulterated hope and Ferris Bueller-type luck. It\u2019s the consciousness shift that\u2019s needed amid the ongoing natural disasters, pandemic recovery, tariff threats and music industry turmoil.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI want to do some shows with these cats because this is important music. It\u2019s an important message,\u201d Doodlebug says. \u201cIn a way, this project has kind of revived my love for doing this hip hop thing.\u201d Perhaps best known for his verse on \u201cRebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat),\u201d Doodlebug has toured and transcended the world for years sustaining that vibe. He pulled in an artist from Paris for the AGLS cover art, and nods to John Coltrane for the album\u2019s title.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Toronto-bred brothers, Adrian and Lucas Rezza, collectively known as the rapping, producing, singing-songwriting pair behind 80 Empire, met Philly\u2019s-own Doodlebug (ne\u00e9 Craig Irving) after one of his shows in 2011.
