The deal, which was put in place by Biggie&#8217;s mom,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/tags\/voletta-wallace\/\" target=\"_blank\">Voletta Wallace<\/a>, before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/voletta-wallace-notorious-bigs-mom-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\">she passed<\/a> in February at the age of 78, should open the door for some exciting opportunities. The estate and PW tell\u00a0the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/media\/a-mothers-quest-to-secure-biggie-smallss-legacy-6e1b24b4?mod=Searchresults_pos1&amp;page=1\" target=\"_blank\">Wall Street Journal<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>that those opportunities include Biggie&#8217;s life story being made into a Broadway play as well as &#8220;creating immersive music experiences based on his catalog, some using the rapper\u2019s digital avatar.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Biggie&#8217;s estate is reported to be worth $200 million, a massive increase from the $10 million it was estimated at when the rapper was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/the-notorious-b-i-g-will-never-be-forgotten\/\" target=\"_blank\">shot and killed <\/a>at the age of 24 in 1996. Ms. Wallace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/the-notorious-big-legacy-voletta-wallace-estate\/\" target=\"_blank\">played a huge role<\/a> in that increase. She was a producer on the 2009 film biopic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/10009632-notorious\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Notorious<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0In 2011, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xxlmag.com\/the-notorious-b-i-g-estate-signs-new-licensing-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\">signed a licensing deal <\/a>with\u00a0Brand Sense Partners to manage licensing and merchandising for the Brooklyn native\u2019s name and likeness.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She trusted no one,&#8221; Wayne Barrow, who co-manages Biggie&#8217;s estate, told <em>WSJ<\/em>. &#8220;With everything she went through, she wasn\u2019t going to allow her or [her] grandkids to be in a position where what Biggie\u2019s legacy was wasn\u2019t beneficial to them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Biggie reportedly died with a standard publishing deal in place that gave him 50 percent ownership of his music catalog, with the other split going to Bad Boy Entertainment. In the early 2000s, Ms. Wallace secured 85 percent ownership, before acquiring the remaining 15 percent in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Primary Wave&#8217;s roster of late entertainer catalogs includes Bob Marley,
