Ice Cube and Mike Epps Turn Long Beach into Friday-Verse for the Must-See Debut of “Everyday Friday”

For one unforgettable night, the fan-favorite film Friday was a real-life block party.

Thousands of fans stepped into the world of the iconic film series created by Ice Cube and DJ Pooh as Ice Cube and Mike Epps debuted Everyday’s Friday—Lyrics, Loungin’ and Laughing at the Long Beach Amphitheater.

The grounds were transformed into the Friday-verse, bringing the films’ humor, characters, music and neighborhood spirit off the screen and into real life. Fans who have watched, loved and quoted the movies for more than three decades finally had the chance to walk through that world for themselves.

 

Fans experienced candy-painted lowriders, took photos inside re-created movie scenes, shopped exclusive merchandise and enjoyed Friday-inspired food while films from the franchise played at an on-site drive-in theater.

The event brought longtime fans and a new generation together for a celebration that felt every bit as familiar, funny and unapologetically Friday as the films themselves.

Mike Epps kept the crowd laughing as franchise favorites Paula Jai Parker, Kathleen Bradley, Kym Whitley, Clifton Powell and Ron Muhammad took the stage to share behind-the-scenes stories and reflect on the films’ lasting impact.

The evening also paid tribute to cast members who have passed away, honoring the performers and characters who helped make Friday one of the most beloved film franchises in the culture.

 

 

Fans came ready for the costume contest, showing up as Mrs. Parker, Joker Boy, Big Worm and other unforgettable characters. The creativity, and the crowd’s reaction, made it clear just how deeply Friday remains part of the culture.

Scarface and Warren G provided the soundtrack with fan favorites before Ice Cube closed the night alongside WC. Cube’s career-spanning set moved from N.W.A and his solo catalog to Westside Connection and his classic soundtrack hits.

Everyday’s Friday gave fans something they could not get from simply rewatching the movies: the chance to step inside the Friday-verse and live it for themselves.

And if the response in Long Beach was any indication, this was only the beginning.
