Getting the old one off was a bit of a chore, had to cut one end of the original lift off the metal with a hack saw.  CAREFULLY of course.  Getting the replacement on was super simple with the C-clamp. Pry the broken hinge off with a flat-head screwdriver from the two metal knobs inside the carrier (that mate with the sockets in the hinge). Add a small amount of lubricant to the metal knobs. Use a deep throated C-Clamp to press the new hinge onto each of the two knobs. Voila. Done. Easy-peasy. Perfect replacement part. I would order a pair instead of 1 because the replacement part has much less tension than the original, so when opening the box the original side flings open when the lid has reached a certain angle. I prefer the replacement part as it is a smoother operation. When closing the lid the original side has too much tension compared to the replacement causing it to close unevenly, Not a big deal. Check out the video I attached.  I ordered a 2nd one to match the spring tension. I&#8217;m guessing they have updated parts with less spring tension to prevent them from exploding like what happened to mine. For removal, I used a small pry bar.
