I needed to remove the inner fender splash guards to replace the front air springs on my Rover. The tool was easy to use in removing the existing clips with no drama and in record time. They are very brittle, so it is good that there are so many in the bag because I have found they just break when trying to remove (even with trim removal tools). These are dimensioned for fender well plastics and fit fine for that application. They DO NOT work on my engine splash guard, they are not long enough to make it through overlapped plastic and the metal behind. My engine splash guard is two pieces that overlap in the middle. This overlap is the only place that uses these retainers instead of bolts.
