It was worth the little extra money. I read all the poor reviews for the plastic replacement ones. Make sure to lubricate the latches on the tail gate left and right side and inspect everything for proper function. If the tailgate handle is hard to pull you may have other issues to look into. When I switched it over the pin that holds it in couldn&#8217;t close. It was damn close and maybe mine was just a factory defect, but I wound up having to use a Dremel tool to shave off a bit of the lock so it would all fit together. Other than that very happy.
