Title: Time consuming, good protection, tricky to install
Review: I ordered 4″x96″ roll for my medium size Mountain Bike and it was NOT enough. It was only enough to cover all sides of the seat stays, chain stays and the very bottom of the seat tube. Need to order another roll to cover the down tube and fork. It’s not easy to install. I used a spray bottle with soapy water (just add some Dawn dish soap to the water). This method worked really well. It gives you plenty of time to move around your pieces and get them in the right position. It took me about 3+ hrs just my first time doing this on the mountain bike and I didn’t even finish the whole thing. It’s very tricky to cut your pieces correctly for different parts of the frame that are curved and tapered. You end up with air bubbles but if you keep working those air bubbles with the included squeegie, by the time the soapy water dries you will get a nice tight fit. Maybe a few minor air bubbles in a few places but no big deal. Your bike frame is much more protected now, which is the whole point. My mountain bike has a matte finish carbon fiber frame. This 3M tape is glossy, so it looks now like part of the bike is glossy and parts and matte.

Title: It does the job!
Review: I’ve been putting off reviewing this b/c I’m a little torn. As others have mentioned, this is not an easy product to work with, however, if you can place it properly, it will stay, and will provide good protection against degrees and chipping. This is not really an adhesive backing as much as it is vinyl sheating. One reviewer reccomended using a spritz of soapy water applied lightly to the frame to help adjust the vinyl. I did not do this, but in hindsight, I think this would work well. Be aware that it is difficult to cut because it is very rubbery and sttetchy. I had to cut out for holes of the bottle cage, and used an xacto knife. It was very tedious. It can be done if your careful and take your time. I hope this helps. I would purchase again.

Title: This stuff works, and it’s not that hard to install
Review: I bought this tape (in 4″ x 48″ size) to protect parts of a recently painted bicycle frame. I was concerned by some of the reviews that suggested that installation might be difficult, but it wasn’t. The key for me was to use warm water with a little liquid dishwashing soap. I put the water on the part of the frame that I wanted to cover, and then thoroughly wetted my hands before installing. I was able to get the tape on the frame without fingerprints, and although it was pretty sticky, was able to adjust it to exactly where I wanted it. I didn’t have any trouble with bubbles; just started in the middle and worked them out toward the edges. I can’t comment on its durability, yet, but if it stays where I put it, it seems thick enough to provide decent protection.

Title: Good
Review: Worked out well. You can’t even see it after installed which is what I wanted. I used it for my sill plates for the scuffing. It wasn’t as tacky as I expected from a 3M product. I used soapy water on the sill plate and the product itself. I’ll just spray it on the product when I do the other side because it was too slippery

Title: How to install like a champ.
Review: Used on my bike frame no issues. 1. You need to get a water sprayer. 2. Fill water sprayer with 70% isopropyl alchohol and water (three to one mix). 3. Spray the bike frame where you will place the sticker and the sticky side of the film. 4. Place the film on and squeeze out the air bubbles with the tool or your fingers. 5. Use some paper towels to dry off. If needed, use a needle to get any tiny air bubbles out. (I didn’t need to do this)Anyone giving this product a bad review didn’t bother to look up any of the myriad of videos online that show you how to do this.

Title: Works ok but scuffs up easily
Review: I ordered this to protect the bottom of my door sills in my truck. The roll arrived really tightly packed and it had a seam down the middle to it looked liked it might not install well. I cut the pieces pretty large at first and found that it does not go around corners or in tights places well. Best to cut it shorter and avoid compound curves. I installed it on four door sills and it had a seam down the middle and a few bubbles that made it look unprofessional. I left it for a day and it all disappeared except for the original seam/crease that it came with. It pretty much disappears and should protect on minor scratches. My shoe has scuffed it on my side twice already and the scuff does not come out. The paint would have not gotten scuffed up like this with just my shoe. Not overly impressed with the high cost and embedded crease.

Title: Great film
Review: I have used this product on my snow skies and now my new mountain bike with a carbon frame. On bicycles, this is NOT a robust protection film against larger gravels and rocks but it should protect the frame/ paint from smaller ones and rubbing.Note: films like this hide chips until they are removed. This is a risk that we are buying (lol).

Review: I’ll come back once I’ve applied the product. But for now, I’m going to have to spend time cutting a few mm each side to make this smooth. Edges are very rough and clearly a poor cut from a bigger roller and repacked. A this price per inch I’m expecting it to be perfect. If I had where to get another replacement soon I would have returned it. Lets hope it sticks as it should.

Review: Used this tape to protect parts of my bike frame. Takes a bit of time to think through the shape to use and cut to size. I found that if I was careful with applying it and only peeled off part of the backing at a time I could get a nice smooth finish without bubbles. Just have to be patient, I used my fingers to smooth out rather than the tool.
