Title: Belt is thinner than OEM and doesn’t have a layer of fabric on the back
Review: Overall this is a well thought out kit, the hardware (idlers, tensioner, water pump) seem solid, though all parts are made in China.The belt is thinner than than the OEM removed. At the spaces between the teeth, OEM (with 93k miles on it) measures .100″, the new belt measures Also, the old OEM belt has an additional layer of reinforcing fabric on the back.I am spending over $1,000 putting the timing and head back together after a cam chain failure (VW BPY motor) and don’t want to do it over again.
