Review: I’ve used this product once before on another Acura vehicle I own and was thrilled with the results I got, so I ordered another one for my other Acura. I got great color match results. It matched perfectly as expected. I like the fact that there is a two step process with this product. Add the base coat first and then add the clear coat. The clear coat application makes a huge difference with the final result. I’m still trying to perfect painting over the chips and scratches on my cars. The paint ends up looking great, but the smoothness is still a challenge.

Review: Someone scratched my car with their key when it was parked at a train station. The scratch went all the way along the car body.The color match is perfect. When painted it looked a bit darker in some areas. I probably didn’t shake well enough, or maybe the area had too much paint.It’s not easy to fill into the narrow and deep scratch. Followed by two clear coats (included), buffing, and it started to look okay from 10 feet away.This worked better for areas with pea sized dings. Just remember to always apply clear coats after, otherwise the paint won’t last.

Review: Ok it took me months to set aside time to try this out and I tried applying the color before winter and during winter and it doesn’t match my vehicle. the code on my vehicle matches the bottle. i emailed the honda dealership and interrogated them about this product on amazon if it was the actual honda paint. naturally the customer service agent just disregarded my question and was like “if you need help matching your car paint color we can have a rep show you how to do that.” after several attempts to let her know I can read the code on my car I gave up because it was obvious she didn’t want to actually do her job. That said, I am suspect that this is legit honda paint because it does not match IT’S LIGHTER………yes you heard me correctly LIGHTER than my car paint which has the original paint on it from honda. code matched and all. i thought maybe temp was impacting the paint and color and how it dries so I used this when it was warmer and colder. I haven’t tried in the summer yet as it’s Jan now. XD I got the paint in late summer early fall for my area. but I think the seller should caution this because either it’s honda paint and it’s a temp thing with the color mix matches, or it’s boot leg product.

When attempting to polish it 3-4 weeks after painting, the paint just wipes off and becomes partially liquid. Title: This Product Is Fabulous!!! With Some Tips For Small Time Users
Review: I just got a used 48″ mower deck for a ‘vintage’ Wheel Horse lawn tractor circa 1991 – it was in amazing condition except for (obviously) the blade compartment. I decided it was worth the work – it really wasn’t that bad except for surface scaly rust and attached grass and the topside looked like new with original paint/belts. This isn’t just for car restoration.I found POR-15 with great reviews on Amazon and decided to also get the rust remover/stabilizer. I first bought an inexpensive angle grinder from Harbor Freight (7amp minimum recommended by me) with requisite wire brushes. Three passes and most of the red flaky rust was gone and down to ‘black oxide’. About half had shallow pitting but most of the metal thickness was intact. I then applied the metal prep as directed and it turned remaining rust in pits/etc. to a grey-white along with non-rusted areas. You could wipe some of this off on the surface after it dried and I decided to wipe down the entire area to smooth things out.Then came the Gloss Black rust preventive paint – I didn’t use any other primer. Two coats with a brush only (larger projects need roller) and I’m amazed – it did indeed dry to a rock-hard finish and brushed on easily – including the rusted caps on the spindle shafts below the blades – the more I began using the more places I found to use it on. The finish really looked great.Now my experience tips many stated elsewhere. MUST have well-ventilated area – like outside for me on a sunny day. If you get it on you it’s not coming off until nature dictates so you have to be careful and prepared. There’s plenty of time before it sets up so there’s no rush. I didn’t feel any need to wear a body suit – perhaps on larger projects as others suggest or if you’re really sloppy.My two pearls of wisdom having pre-read the other comments about not getting it on the lip of the can and being impossible to open (I can tell this would be correct). I bought a pack of 30ml plastic syringes (from China) thru eBay that are just like medical syringes – you can get larger ones if you need more. Open the can (carefully sitting on flat surface) and put the syringe vertically in the center of the liquid away from the edges and draw up however much you need – it’s fairly viscous and requires some effort in pulling and DON’T pull it out – I could do it with thumb and index fingers holding the syringe and other fingers pulling it up. In your other hand hold a paper towel – once the stuff is pulled up lift it above the top of the liquid, let it drip a couple of times, and then bring the paper towel under it to catch any loose drops. This prevented any from getting into the lid groove of the can. I then squirted it into a standard paint roller-type pan with throw-away inserts and dipped brush into (or roller if you choose) and paint away. I also dumped the extra back into the can when finished very carefully. It was ridiculously easy and the can sealed like new and re-opened like new. My arms and fingers weren’t too black when done 🙂 The syringe worked for repeated adding into the roller pan (about 4-5 times).Throw away the brush (or roller), the syringe, the pan insert, and anything else disposable because they’ll be rock hard and unuseable again. I thank others for posting comments about this product – it’s really fabulous and I can’t imagine ever having to revisit this deck for decades. It’s that good with a hard as a rock finish. I also found myself touching up a rusty metal rail on our patio and other things and intend to use it a lot more than I anticipated. For those small time users like me asking ‘how much do I need’ the answer is less than you’d think. This entire deck project used less than 1/4 of the quart (most is left) with two coats. This is why you need to preserve the can lid function – most is still there for other projects and I can think of plenty.Hope this helps – highly recommended!!!

Title: I HAVE A BONE TO PICK
Review: So, I did the research. I made sure to look into one year or more followups as well. And when applied correctly, it does it’s job as prescribed. Everyone on YouTube seems to love this stuff. (Although very few are properly prepping for it) I admit, I’m liking it as well. It did exactly what it says it will do. But I have a huge complaint to issue. MAKE THE CAN STRONGER. The can is made out of some kind of awful thin metal and I struggled for ten minutes trying to pry it open without covering myself in the product. It’s bad enough the bottom of my can was dented when I got it. But even an attempt to open it was bending up the lip on the lid. I don’t know why it has four little metal clips holding the lid to the can. They literally do nothing from what I see. They just popped right off with slight pressure.POR15 is a great product and I do recommend it. But at $35-ish dollars a can, I expect a better can. $5 cans of Rustoleum at Walmart are built better.UPDATEPrevious speaking of Rustoleum, I have switched to their products. I correctly prepared my firewall and frame and used the POR-15. In less than a month, the frame started turning from a semigloss black look to completely flat. I recoated the firewall in a semigloss Rustoleum and it has kept its sheen for months.Moral of the story, there’s a difference in an “influencer” that tries to get you to do things and a “builder”. That wants to truthfully represent products.

Title: Best stuff on the fight against rust
Review: My Dodge truck has battled ten years of Minnesota winters and the road salt was starting to take its toll. I purchased a pint of this stuff, took the truck to the car wash for a thorough cleaning underneath and got to work lightly sanding the areas I was going to apply this stuff. I have used this stuff about ten years ago on the frame of an old Ford plow truck so I can honestly say this product really does stand the test of time. Only regret I have now is I should have used this to undercoat the body of that old truck as well. Anyway getting back to the Dodge, Once the stuff arrived I got to work coating. The areas I did are not visible to the naked eye so I just used some worn out brushes I used for grilling. The pint I got completely covered the underside of the bed, the rockers, inside of the fenders and the bottom inside edge of the doors. After all this I still had some left over in the can so like others have said, this stuff really goes a long way. If I would have sprayed this stuff I can see where a mask would have been necessary but just using a brush and having adequate air movement in the shop I didn’t use one. Having a full box of disposable gloves is the most important tool one can have, like others have already pointed out, this stuff will NOT come off without scraping some layers of skin away. A paint suit is another necessity otherwise a pair of clothes that are going to be thrown away afterwards will work. Only wish I would have more time, I would have coated the frame as well. At least I know the body will stay looking good for at least a few more years.

Review: Ok firstly I have only just finished welding and plating entire ranger rear chassis and painted it with POR15 I have no idea of long term durability yet bear that in mind, however this stuff is amazing be sure and properly clean and prepare the base metal preferably with a sandblaster which I did or a qood quality etch primer also a little goes a very long long way I have only used a third of this tin and have painted entire rear chassis with two coats it cures rock hard and appears it will last a long time as for storage I poured the remaining two thirds into an air tight jar and placed in fridge hopefully it will keep but to conclude it is a brilliant paint for vehicle restoration and comes highly recommended 5 stars yes.

Review: This stuff is simply amazing! I used this last as part of a major restoration of my 15 year old car’s subframes, chassis components and pipework. A recent inspection shows it’s still holding up perfectly. The cured product is still rock hard and cleans up perfectly.Just make sure you cover up well and are really careful when applying this, as it is very watery and will spray everywhere when applied messily with a brush and stains like ****! I foolishly managed to get a load on my hands a week before my sister’s wedding. I tried everything to get it off with no joy. Looked like I had been henna’d! 🙂 Had to wait until the skin fell off after about a fortnight!Finished the tin off recently by painting straight over my completely rusted BBQ. It went on straight away (great coverage), and no sign of the rust being able to bubble through.

Review: After following directions, Is and drying three different times. The grey paint still shows up black. This product is Absolutely horrible. It doesn’t even attempt to be gray. The last attempt that you see in the picture.The paint was shown for about twenty minutes. Maybe it was frozen and transit.I don’t know.

Title: BE VERY CAREFUL OPENING!!
Review: This said paint PEN it’s a brush and the paint is SUPER THIN LIKE WATER. Thinking it was a pen I opened it like a pen and dumped half if this on me. Which caused me to jump and make it worse now it’s on both hands my shoes , my garage floor and the grill of my car. That being said IT IS A PERFECT MATCH but be careful there is no fail safe it will straight pour all over you and everything you own and it DOES NOT WASH OFF. Going to get paint thinner now. YOUVE BEEN WARNED LOL

How to Use:

BEFORE APPLYING !

Make sure the surface is clean, dry and scratch free before applying the product.

STEP 1 Wrap the cloth around the sponge and apply 4 drops of this products.

STEP 2 Apply in straight lines. First horizontally and then vertically to an area of 1/2 the size of the hood.

Make sure to apply 3-5 drops whenever the sponge feels dry or you can´t see any product being applied to the surface.

STEP 3 Immediately after applied, buff the surface in circular movements using the microfiber cloth.

It is recommended folding the cloth and using one side for an initial buffing and the other side of the cloth for a more throught and final buffing.

We strongly recommend DON’T wash/ water /raining/wet your coated car within 7 days.

Title: Excellent value, rejuvenates headlights to like-new
Review: Used this compound after restoring headlights by hand. It dramatically restored them and the polycarbonate plastic to a like-new condition and I am impressed by the quality of this.I am confident that this product is as effective as similar products $100 in price. Especially with the added value of the applicator pad, microfiber clothes, and rubber gloves.After through sanding, polishing, and degreasing with isopropyl alcohol I’m able to clean headlights. It is cheaper and easier than replacing them or bringing them to a professional.While it’s too early to determine it’s protective properties, It seems like a nice final coat for UV protection for clear polycarbonate plastic.

Title: Good for the price not very slick for me
Review: After testing pretty much all “over the counter” ceramic style products this is my first attempt at a long term solution thus my expectations.This product was packaged well and comes with clear instructions.I did a full clay treatment and paint correction before applying to ensure I was starting with a clean and prepped surface to give this product its fair shake.It went on smooth and easily. Following the instructions, comes off just as easy. If you take on too large of a surface and let it start to dry too much it can be more difficult to take off, naturally. The 50 ml bottle lasted just barely over two applications on my small car.Initial impressions: I’m underwhelmed. Decent beading when it was rained on, but little to no water sheating and it doesn’t repel dust/ make dusting easier anywhere near as well as I expected.I absolutely don’t expect this product to last more than a few months. However, I won’t find out as I’ve already sprayed turtle wax ceramic spray on top (which is the best spray ceramic on the market in my educated option). This will allow for the ease of dusting I’m looking for.Overall I’m still giving four stars for the ease of use and shine it gives after properly treated. For 20 bucks I don’t think I could do better. The images I added are: in my garage post treatment, outside on a sunny day, and after driving home in the rain.

Title: Second time buying this and would buy it for a third time!
Review: This is the second time I’ve bought the Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating, and I’m sure I’ll be buying it again for a third time. It’s just that good! Before applying it, I did have to go through a pretty thorough cleaning process, which included a full car wash, using a clay bar, and an iron decontamination spray. It definitely takes more time than a quick spray-on detailing product, but the results are absolutely worth it.The shine this coating gives my cars is incredible. The water beads up and rolls off effortlessly, and the glossy finish is amazing. It’s so good that I find myself just wanting to go outside and stare at my clean cars. They look like they’re straight out of a showroom!Even though the prep and application take a bit longer, the shine and protection last way longer than any other product I’ve used. It keeps my cars looking pristine and really brings out the best in the paint. If you’re willing to put in the effort for the prep work, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning, long-lasting shine. I can’t recommend this product enough, and I’m already looking forward to using it again!

Title: It’s OK, but doesn’t last as long as they say.
Review: I bought this twice and used it on a new Ram 1500 pickup. The Weiruixin coating is slated to last 2 years according to them. The first time I purchased was back in June 2020. It applied easily and I was real happy with the results. The truck stayed relatively cleaner than without the coating and had great beading. Less than 1 year later (April 2021), I noticed that the beading was not as pronounced and especially with the lower door panels, water wasn’t sheeting off as easily. So I bought the same coating again and put it on. It’s now March 2022 and again, I’m noticing that the dirt doesn’t wash off as easily and has lost much of the beading.Some notes: I bought another brand for the my sister in-law’s new X5 and it was a nightmare to put on and take off. Her car has also lost much of the ceramic beading qualities a year later too. So in comparison, this Weiruixin brand is far far better only because it’s easy to put on and wipe off despite the longevity issues with both. My brother sent his Tesla to a ceramic professional (and paid a crazy $1500 to do it) and is onto his 2nd year and still has better protection than mine – so maybe you get what you pay for. If I have to do this once a year, I guess it wouldn’t bother me so much as it’s far better than the prior days of constant waxing. The price on the Weiruixin is good – just the longevity could be better. Another note is the 50ml bottle is bigger than most (which usually are 30ml). For me, I used approx. 45ml to coat my entire Ram 1500 pickup minus the roof. Going to try another brand now and see how that goes.

Review: Bought a new car, saw swirl marks getting made, so decided to use this.I am a novice.Looked at all the videos and cleaned the car, after it dried I applied one coat across- I have an suv . Used up half the bottle coating all the windows, panoramic sunroof everything.It protects the shine and dirt comes off easily. Also marks are less, thought it doesn’t protect from anything else, like a bike guy touched my car door with his handle, it has a tiny hold in the paint now.Overall would recommend, doesn’t come off easily and is hydrophobic

Title: Revising a one-star review to a five-star review
Review: I just spent 3 long days peeling a 20-year-old commercial bedliner spray job on my F-450. Part of it had come loose and the rust was starting to be too much to ignore. Peeling The remainder with hammer, chiselwith and half dozen wheels of paint and rust remover with a grinder. The job absolutely sucked as each morning the entire grinded area was all rusted over again. I use the product over the really bad rust pitted almost through areas and it did such a good job even on the exterior parts that was just bare metal I ended up laying this product over the entire bed before doing a new bedliner rolled over finish. The proof was instant as the next morning there were no rust anywhere. The product does say wait 48 hours and it confirmed the effectiveness against rain and morning dew. I was quoted $1800 to respray a bed liner after I did all the hard work so I ordered the herculiner kit. I like this product so much I went on to use it on top of a 2003 expedition roof and then use the same bedliner finish on top of that roof. I have been to multiple finishing shops charging me thousands of dollars to stop the rushed holes on the old Ford roof and All I did is waste my money with them. This product along with roofing fabric over the holes of rust and the bedliner finish renewed my SUV for another 5 years. Can’t beat the naturally aspirated v8s that has been maintained so why you lose a vehicle over rust that now can be taken care of with this phenomenal product. I am now using this chemical in a spray bottle to go underneath my truck and spray the entire frame along with the drive shaft and anything else that looks rusty. Every 6 months I go under the truck with a can of rustoleum rust converter and it’s gone within months. This product is for real not just surface garbage. I’m starting to use this as the primer coat on anything that has metal.

Title: Low Odor, Easy, Not messy, Works great
Review: Wear rubber/nitrile gloves, you’ll need them. Having a fine nap paint pad may be handy if you don’t have tons of gloves. Product is thin and coverage is excellent. Thin yet somehow viscous enough to not drip a lot. Applied with brush on rusty OME leaf springs. Everywhere that factory finished remained it turns whitish. (Manufacturer recommended using oil based finish to protect once product cures in 48 hours) like any job, prep is key. your mileage may vary. Everywhere there is rust or bare metal turns a dark purple/midnight within 30 minutes. It foams a lot so wouldn’t recommend using an air sprayer. The cleaning type sprayer (Windex bottle) would be good on “stream” for covering large areas of truck frame or large projects.When foaming occurs in project material; sampling rub with gloves hand or use fine napped paint pad or microfiber cloth. Used about 4 oz. to cover all leaf springs twice over. Next morning product seems cured with no off-gassing. Time will tell longevity. I tested rusty bolts, a shovel, some plate steel. Un cleaned truck frame, product was not picky … Works on just about everything. Much easier, cleaner, better coverage and adherent, non-fuming alternative to POR15

Title: Works well if not painted over doesn’t work at all if painted over
Review: Works well on vehicle frames and axles looks black in sunlight and normal lighting but shine a spot light on it and it turns clear which is dark brown when it’s over rust. How often do you shine a 10000 lumen light at the undercarriage of your vehicle though lol. It works when left unpainted over for some reason if you paint over it even after waiting for it to cure the rust eats right back through with a week. Haven’t figured that one out something to do with chemicals or oxygen I don’t know. The nice thing about it is if you get it on a surface that doesn’t have rust on it it’ll dry clear and then wash off that surface when it rains which makes prep practically nonexistent. I still wouldn’t get it on my paint if I can help it. You don’t want to sand to bare metal either it won’t work it needs rust to react to. It’s a chemical not a paint. Just sand it down to surface rust and ably.

Title: This Really Does Work!
Review: The thing I like the best about FDC Rust Converter Ultra is that it really works. I also like that it is water-based. I apply it with a big paintbrush and it soaks into the rust, seals it, and stops the rust. It’s a good value for the price and a gallon gives you plenty to cover a huge area. Preparation is easy too. You just have to knock off the loose rust pieces and then you can paint this right on. It turns the rust into a black coating that is as hard as rock. Definitely stops the rust in its tracks.

Review: Living is Wisconsin you will never win with rust. Tried many different ways and eventually the rust comes back. Also tried a few different final covercoats of different paints over this stuff and rust came back.

Review: The product did an OK job. It wasn’t magic, and there are a lot of tricks to using it. I’m pretty sure I don’t know all of them. However – I believe it needs to be warmer the recommended 10 deg C. I tried to finish one day, painting as the sun was going down and that metal didn’t convert – or converted just dots (pic 4). Worse yet it seemed to create a barrier that made it not convert well on additional coats. The air temp was still good, but lack of sun, or maybe nighttime moisture gave me issues. It took at least a week for the paint to fully blacken regardless of problem areas or good ones. It also appeared to convert lightly rusted metal better than heavily rusted metal (1st pic is really noticable). I sprayed it and brushed it on, and neither appeared to be better than the other (although the brush could get into different places, the sprayer was faster). Oddly enough pics 1 and 3 have 3 or 4 coats. Pic 2 and 4 is a single coat. Coverage was about what they said for a single coat. I read another review that talked about it bubbling from the heat of the sun. That worried me a bit, and I didn’t read it until my first coat was already on and I was having problems. I might test it on some scrap metal and I’ll update if I do. I did email them and they responded right away, although the advice wasn’t as helpful as I’d hoped. I didn’t follow up any further so maybe there was more information there if I continued the conversation. Given my options of priming over the rust (which was mostly surface rust similar to pic 2), sanding or sandblasting, I’m happy to have this coating on. Oh, also I wasn’t careful washing my hands and I may have stained the sink a little (purple)- but that’ll be our secret.

Review: I haven’t had a chance to paint do any body fill or paint yet but this stuff definitely stopped the rust in its tracks. I had to access the inside panel as well as the outside panel in order to stop it from rusting on the inside out but it was worth the hassel to get the rust to stop travelling up the side of my truck.

Review: Customer service is A+++ Right from the start when you order, they email you to thank you for supporting a small familly buisiness and how they’re proud and confident about this product. I received my gallon couple days later and started right away on my rusted truck frame. It’s got a white milky texture and goes on great with a paint brush. Let me say that a small amount will cover a whole lot of square feet of rust area. Within seconds of contact, the rust chemically turns black as the product dries. Applied 3 coat everywhere and it did a great job. I just hope it lasts a long time. Great product!

Title: Good amount inside can/coverage
Review: Over all it dyes it pretty black and only used 2 cans for basically the whole headliner, i bought more then expected or what I just need so I bought 4. Will see how durable it is on the vinyl/plastic parts also. Will probably go another coat once again in the morning to be safe about a even black color. Changes the whole color and you can’t even see beige anymore. Good job.

Review: This stuff worked great on my faux leather couch worn out sitting area. I opened the windows and put a fan in the window to push the fumes out. It dried pretty fast, but the off gassing fumes continued for 2 days. I fell asleep on the couch watching TV. When I got up to go to bed I was very dizzy. BUT, my couch looks great! ;)I recommend doing it outside if you can.

Title: good stuff
Review: I painted a plastic automotive bumper and used this flex additive. This is a vital chemical needed to ensure your paint doesn’t flake off your painted plastic parts. (You also need adhesion promoter as prep).I can’t remmber if I added this to the clear coat as well… honestly I am not a professional. I whacked out my bumper on a part of a truck tire on the highway, and I decieded to try this out. It has lasted me 6 months and looks pretty dang good, using some materials and tools off of Amazon.

Title: Flex that Bumper Cover
Review: Used this with acrylic urathane automotive in base coat and in clear coat on 2015 Ford Focus bumper cover at 15-20%. It looks great with plenty of flex.Will use again.

How to Use 2K AeroSpray Clear Coat

Title: Just like OEM clearcoat
Review: Just finished touching up some small scratches on my car with this 2K clearcoat. I was quoted $700 at the dealership for a deep scratch about 2″ long! For about $70 total, I repaired and painted the scratch as well as the lower portion of my front bumper, that had been kerbed at one time and was a mess.This sprays on really well with a nice even fan, oriented vertically or horizontally by rotating the nozzle. It hardens within 30 mins or so to a high gloss shine. There’s some orange peel effect, but no doubt that will mostly buff out with the final step of 1600 => 2000 grit wet sanding and cutting in with polishing compound. The original OEM paint has similar, but less pronounced, orange peel. The clearcoat has no color so if your base coat color matches, it still will after clear-coating with this product. I tried another 1K clearcoat on my first repair attempt and it turned my beautiful white paint yellow! Thankfully a rag and some lacquer thinner wiped it all away for another attempt.I wasn’t sure if this 2-pack would be compatible with a lacquer-based (1K) base coat, but I did a test spray on an old sheet of steel and while there was some crinkling where I’d deliberately applied a really thick coat of base, the rest of the normal thickness paint wasn’t affected. On the car itself, it worked great. Hopefully there’s no long term issue with this – time will tell!I’ll surely buy this clearcoat again next time I want an OEM finish paint job that’s resistant to solvents. It seems expensive compared with other 1K clear coats, but not for its functionality, clarity and durability.Please beware: You’ve really got to wear a respirator when spraying this product. The fumes are toxic. I used “3M 07193 Paint Spray Resp. Large” from Amazon.Update:This morning, after an overnight wait at unheated garage temps,(approx 14 hours since application), I finished cutting back the clear coat. I found the 1500 grit too aggressive. 2000 grit worked just fine to remove any orange peel and blend in to the original clear coat. The clearcoat was still “soft” enough to not need anything coarser that 2000 grit. It will continue to cure over the next few days/weeks. Machine and hand buffing resulted in a near perfect gloss finish. See my uploaded photo of the finished job. VERY pleased with this product and will use again!Update: Sept 2015. Looks just as good as when I applied it after 1.5 years and hot TX sun. Very happy!

Review: I want a high gloss finish on my McMillan rifle stock. Bought a can of this and it turned out just OK. Some blemishes and course looking areas. Some areas just the way I wanted. So I ordered another can and sanded entire stock to remove the blemishes and course spots.So this time I followed the instructions regarding distance from stock. Last time was too far away. Instructions are important 😁.Stock turned out exactly the way I wanted. Smooth as glass and extremely shiny.

Title: READ THIS REVIEW!!!, great headlight restoring paint, but mask well
Review: Overall this seems like the best finisher for restoring oxidized headlights. I have tried many products in the past including the Meguiars kit, Sylvania kit, Turtle Wax headlight restorer, and just wetsanding with 600, 1000, then 2000 or 2500 grit sandpapers and then clearing with 2 coats of some clear lacquer spray paint bought from Oreilly’s. For this application (picture 1), I wetsanded with 600 until the color of the sanded plastic particles changed from yellow to white, and then used 1000 grit for 11 minutes and 2000 grit for 8 minutes (per headlight). After wiping with rubbing alcohol, I layed a medium coat of this spray paint (picture 2). I followed the directions on the can and also used tape to hold the button pressed in while spraying. Once the paint from the first coat was applied, it looked very cloudy (concerning) but dried with no orange peel or undesirable finish (3). I applied a second coat (4) and it was cloudy again but dried fine (5). I did this process to another car, whose headlights I had refinished a little over a year ago with the store-bought spray paint mentioned above (6). I applied 3 coats of this 2k Eastwood clear (7) and they turned out looking good.You MUST either remove the headlight from the vehicle before spraying or lay multiple blankets/towels over the top of the vehicle so that none of the MASSIVE amount of overspray gets on the vehicle. If you do not remove the headlights/taillights from the vehicle, you MUST cover areas surrounding the light with plastic and not newspaper like I did. Around the border where the painters tape was, I can see a faint but sharp line where the paint seeped through the newspaper and attached itself the the surface of the fender and bumper. This did not come off with lacquer thinner, so I will try other options such as a clay bar or rubbing compound. Also be aware of the 48 hour lifespan of the product after cracking the chambers open. I did not have any issues, but I would not use this product after those 48 hours have elapsed.I am very confident that this is the perfect spray paint for refinishing headlights and taillights. With the proper prep work and precautions taken, you will not regret buying this $30 spray paint can.
